Technology Fail and FINALLY Some Justice

As 1337 and as Pwnage technology is, sometimes (well more often than not) it fails us...

Yesterday for example, I got up and destroyed some Call of Duty 4 (on 360) then when it came time for me to go to bed...I thought I would play some more annnnd I get the damned Red-Ring of death =[ ah well, shit happens...I now have to send my Xbox to Microsoft, and miss playing ODST until it comes back (if it does - if not I guess I'll have to buy a new one...and add that to my ever growing list of expenses...)

In other tech stuff, as mentioned previously (in another blog), my copy of Snow Leopard came on Tuesday and I only got around to installing it last night.

Firstly I was expecting a huge box (well not huge but significantly larger than necessary) and instead they sent me a box that just fit the CD, some stickers and a instruction guide.

And secondly I was expecting some visual feast, new colour schemes e.t.c yeah no.

What I think Snow Leopard is, is just background improvements (and by that I mean, things that you won't really notice, but makes your system generally faster) however, just to let you know that you did in fact upgrade rather than just spend money for the sake of it, now when you right click on your dock, the pop-up box is BLACK!...and you get 7GB of HDD space back, which is pretty sweet. (More P0rn FTW)

As far as I can tell its really an upgrade for everything...Quicktime, Mail, iMovie e.t.c.

Now I LOVE spending more money than I should on technology (hence purchasing a MacBook) so only being charged $39 for the new OSX update made me sad...seriously though, for $39, there is no downside to upgrading.

Something I was excited about yesterday was the release of The Beatles Stereo Boxset! =D although the price tag destroyed my little bubble of happiness...$389...

Try something for me, go into iTunes and type in 'The Beatles'...you should get LOTS of Beatles songs, but nothing from the Fab Four... here's why --> No Beatles for iTunes (the good stuff is down the bottom)

Moving along...

YouTube can be used for alot of things, it can be used to launch yourself into cyberspace, it can be used to promote business, it can be used as a political tool or it can be used for no other reason than being a dick on the internet.

Lately, however it has become the place for douchebag teenagers to upload themselves fighting (at schools mostly), and I'm not talking slapstick. Just YouTube 'School Fights' and you'll get pages upon pages of this shit.

Believe it or not, the majority of the content are girls fighting...and I wonder is this just another of example of girls trying to keep up with guys?

Before you call me sexist, let me explain, (if I can get my head around my thoughts). When I go out, I'm pretty much guaranteed to see people throwing up in the streets, and more often than not they are going to be female. I think when girls go out with a bunch of guys drinking subconsciously becomes a competition (as it does for some anyway), which never ends well, so perhaps this fighting on YouTube phenomenon is the same thing or is it just a piss weak attempt at getting famous (or infamous)?

Here in Australia FINALLY some justice has been served, one of the girls involved in a YouTube fight has been sentenced to one month in juvenile detention.

Now I tried to find the story on the inter webs but evidentially there is so much of this going on that after trawling Google for 10min I came up with nothing...so, sorry.... actually Copy  this '16 year old girls goes to prison fighting youtube' and Paste it into Google (then click search), that made me sad.

With literally hundreds of trashy magazines published monthly, negative role models like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Brittney Spears, Kim Kardashian e.t.c and television programs that promote trashy sluts becoming "princesses" (temporary...we all know they go back to being themselves post program) we are glorifying a thrid-rate, abysmal, godawful image because it sells and appeals to teenagers.

I'm just saying, perhaps to solve problems like fighting (and others e.g. image) we need to go and hire someone to "take out the trash"...?

I'm now off to pump The Beatles (BOSE FTW) and study... =[
