Couple of things I found stupid today:
1. Man smoking cigarette driving a petrol tanker *high five you nonpermanent Australian*
2. This Story
The story relates to yet another "video game" related death... 9 year old kid stabbed by his 25 year old family/not family/cousin/roomie person over a Tony Hawk game...for fucks sake, thats all I have to say...
I think I have written previously how the few ruin it for the many - in regards to the whole argument that video games are destroying our youth because the games are now too graphic and violent with content like sex, drugs (rock 'n roll - haha I had to), police being shot, rioting, banks being robbed all that stuff that children need to be protected from that doesn't happen in the real world and you don't see on CNN e.t.c...wait.... so I won't go into it...
Moving on to more video game related issues.
:)
Some of you may be unaware, but there is a (large) push currently here in Australia for retailers to be permitted to sell games rated R18+ in stores, because at the moment retailers (in every state bar the ACT and Tasmania) are not authorized to sell games rated higher than MA15+.
This is also the reason why games like Left for Dead 2, Manhunt and some most of the GTA franchise games have had to be recalled and dulled down so to shut all the stupid parents who are horrified when they realise that their 10 year old is ploughing some hooker in the back of an Infernus or that they are scooping the eye balls out of a hobo or blowing a Zombie's guts apart... but the reality is, they were the ones who purchased the game and gave it to their children to play - but ahh ignorance is bliss, what you don't know doesn't hurt you right parents?
Common sense.... I'll most certainly be touching on that next time, until then, if your interested here are some useful links:
